Carnet Entretien Maison is an app published on a non-professional basis under the name Maitia Software. This policy applies to the Carnet Entretien Maison Android app and the features directly associated with it.
2. Data stored in your home record
The app lets you record information useful for keeping track of your home. Depending on how you use it, this may include:
- information describing your home;
- equipment and its characteristics;
- brands, models and serial numbers;
- purchase dates and prices;
- warranties and their expiry dates;
- maintenance, work carried out and reminders;
- photos you choose to add;
- documents you choose to associate with equipment, such as invoices, manuals or supporting documents.

3. Use of Smart Capture
When you choose to use Smart Capture, the selected document or image may be sent to a remote processing service so its content can be analysed and useful information can be identified to help prepare an equipment record.
Smart Capture may in particular try to identify, when present and sufficiently legible, a seller, purchase date, product, brand, model, serial number or price.
The information suggested by Smart Capture must still be checked and may be edited by the user before it is saved in the home record.
4. Purposes of use
Data processed by the app is used to provide the features requested by the user, including:
- organising the tracking of home equipment;
- linking documents and photos to equipment;
- tracking warranties and maintenance;
- displaying reminders and due dates;
- calculating Home Check-up indicators;
- generating the Home Passport;
- creating and restoring a backup of the home record;
- providing Smart Capture when this feature is used.
5. Data sharing
Maitia Software does not sell the information contained in your home record.
Some data may nevertheless be sent to technical service providers when this is necessary for a feature you have chosen to use, particularly for processing a document with Smart Capture.
Before Smart Capture is made publicly available in production, the final list of service providers involved and their retention conditions will be specified in this policy.
6. Backups
Carnet Entretien Maison lets you create a backup of your home record. The backup file is intended to allow restoration of the information stored in the app.
When you export, move, copy or share a backup yourself, its retention then depends on the location or service you have chosen.
7. Retention and deletion
Information stored in the home record remains under the user's control and may change as the app is used.
The precise retention arrangements for remote processing used by Smart Capture will be stated here before this feature is released to production.
Deleting data in the app or deleting a backup you created depends on the functions made available to you and on the location where you chose to keep that backup.
8. Security
Maitia Software seeks to limit access to information to the functions needed for the app to work and to use appropriate mechanisms for exchanges with remote services when they are required.
No computer system can guarantee absolute security, so you are also advised to protect access to your device and to any backups you export.
9. Device permissions
Some features may require limited access to resources on your device, for example when you choose a photo or document to add to your home record. These permissions are used only to provide the requested feature.
10. Children
Carnet Entretien Maison is designed as a home management and tracking tool. The app is not designed as a service specifically intended for children.
11. Your choices
You choose the information you add to your home record, the documents and photos you import, and whether or not you use Smart Capture.
You also remain responsible for files that you voluntarily export or share outside the app.
12. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to Carnet Entretien Maison, Smart Capture, its technical service providers or applicable requirements.
The last-updated date shown at the top of this page will be changed when a new version of the policy is published.
